Analysis of UN High-Level Meeting

As part of our advocacy efforts, the Language Compendium published an analysis critiquing the UN political declaration on Universal Health Coverage (UHC). The analysis highlighted the lack of new commitments compared to previous declarations, particularly the failure to explicitly protect vulnerable populations, address gender rights, and strengthen community leadership. The piece also emphasized the weaknesses in digital health commitments, despite the increasing importance of digital technologies in healthcare. “By mostly reflecting previous commitments, the 2023 political declaration on UHC failed to take advantage of an opportunity to make stronger commitments on gender equality.”
